Who We Are

The “National Resource Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases (NRC-NCD)” is affiliated to the ‘World NCD Federation (WNF)’ and registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act. It is established to play a catalyst role in the Prevention and Control of Non- Communicable Diseases (NCDs), as envisaged in the WHO Global NCD Action Plan and UN SDG Goals 2030.

The NRC-NCD the only one of its kind, initiated as a joint venture of ‘Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH)’ and ‘Alcohol & Drug Information Centre (ADIC) – India’, is situated in one of the most beautiful and serene lush green environmentally friendly campus of BCMCH at Thiruvalla and is spread over 12,000 sq. ft. with the latest state of the art infra-structure in par with international standards.

The major facilities of NRC-NCD includes a Library cum Research Lounge, 12 Cluster Focal Points (headed by a team of eminent Doctors) and a Recreation Centre for Physical Activity & Diet.

The National Resource Centre serves as a Training cum Research Centre and Clearing House of Data and Information as well as undertaking and implementing projects on all the 9 NCD Voluntary Targets and Indicators, with special emphasis on the major 5 Risk Factors of NCDs namely, (1) Alcohol (2) Tobacco (3) Physical Inactivity (4) Unhealthy Diet and (5) Air Pollution.
