CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS: ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Dear Colleagues,

The Organizing Team is delighted to invite ABSTRACT submissions for both ORAL and POSTER Presentations at the “SEACON NCD-2024 Conference on Empowering Governments and Civil Societies towards realizing the NCD–SDG Global Goals”. This Conference aims to bring together Professionals, Researchers and Scholars from WHO-SEARO Member Countries to share their innovative research and insights through Oral and Poster Presentations, contributing to the vibrant exchange of knowledge and ideas on the theme and focus areas which are mentioned below. Mementoes and Certificates will be presented to the best three presentations in each category, in addition to Partial Scholarships. All selected entries will receive Appreciation Certificates.

Abstract Submission Instructions:

  • All abstracts must be submitted online through the Conference Website.
  • Please ensure that your abstract adheres to our Abstract Submission Guidelines and follow the provided template for abstract formatting.
  • Abstracts should be submitted in English, adhering to the Conference Sub-themes.
  • The data presented should be the original work of the author and have not been plagiarised from any other source.
  • The contributor/submitter carries legal obligations of the abstract; any violation of a third party's right will be the responsibility of the contributor him/herself.
  • Submission of the abstract signifies the author’s consent to publish (in case), the same as a part of SEACON NCD - 2024 proceedings.
  • The Scientific Committee has the sole right to accept or reject abstracts.
  • Each author is eligible to submit only one abstract (either Oral or Poster)

Important Dates:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 05-12-2023
  • Notification of Acceptance: 08–12–2023

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Theme: Please mention specifically under which Sub-theme is your Presentation.
  • Title: Please provide a clear and concise Title for your Presentation.
  • Authors: List all contributing authors, affiliations, and contact information.
  • Abstract: The abstract should be in English, not more than 300 words, formatted in Microsoft Word, single-spaced, using size 12 Times New Roman font. It should briefly summarize the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of your research.
  • Keywords: Please include 3-5 keywords that describe your presentation subject.

Submission Tracks:

  • Oral Presentation: Presenters will have the opportunity to deliver their research findings and insights in front of an engaged audience during dedicated Oral Presentation Sessions.
    • Each presenter will be given a total time slot of 15 minutes, which is distributed as 10 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes for answering questions from the auditorium and changing presenters at the podium. Hence, limit your presentation to 1 slide per minute of speaking time. This means approximately 10 slides maximum for the 10-minute presentation.
    • Ensure your PowerPoint presentation is in 16:9 ratio (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). In PowerPoint, save your file as a .pptx. Do not use .ppt, .pps, or other formats, as this will affect your file’s ability to open correctly.
  • Poster Presentation: Presenters can showcase their research findings in a Portrait Poster Format at a dedicated exhibition space and to facilitate one-on-one discussions with interested participants at specific timings.
    • Posters should be in portrait orientation (30 X 36 inches) and strictly adhere to the specified dimensions. Presenters are responsible for printing and bringing their posters to the Conference.

Review and Selection Process:

  • All submitted abstracts will undergo a rigorous review by our expert panel.
  • Acceptance notifications will be sent on or before 08th December 2023.

Registration:

  • All accepted Oral & Poster presenters must register for the Conference within the Registration Deadline to confirm their participation.

  • Early bird registration discounts are available, so be sure to take advantage of them.

Benefits of Participation:

  • Best three presentations in each category will receive Mementoes and Certificates in addition to the Partial Scholarships. All selected entries will receive Appreciation Certificates.
